Sunday Standard news editor Khonani Ontebetse will join the prestigious investigative journalism Centre, Amabhungane at the beginning of April this year. Ontebetse is expected to spend three months at the Centre working closely with some of the best investigative reporters in South Africa.
Ontebetse’s three months internship at Amabhungane was organized and facilitated by Ink Centre for Investigative journalism (INKCIJ), a non-profit investigative journalism outlet based in Gaborone.
Head of Editorial at INK CIJ, Joel Konopo said the internship would help Ontebetse apply knowledge he acquired and skills gathered from Amabhungane thereby increasing his propensity and capacity for his newsroom.
Ontebetse says that he is looking forward to being part of the Amabhungane team. He says, “ (The) internship would help me hone his investigative skills and help him conceive, research and out together investigative stories.”
